HORSE SHOW RULES

  • ABSOLUTELY NO HORSE ABUSE
  • All horses must be registered with the ER
  • Versatility Horses MAY ONLY show in Halter Classes (Age & Color) nothing else.
  • Follow all Hay!Land Quarter Horse Association rules & regulations when entering a show.
  • Checks must be sent with entries
  • No illegal substances, except those substances approved by the HLQHA may be given to horses prior to competing in any of the shows. All substances need to be approved by the HLQHA prior to registration for a show. These substances include those regulated by the AQHA.
  • Judges decisions are final. Results are calculated using randomizer.org
  • Respect the premises of the facility owner.
  • Please be on time for your classes, divisions or events
  • All horses competing must have an up-to-date negative Coggins test & a up-to-date health certificate on file with their vet. Proof of current negative Equine Infectious Anemia (EIA) status is required for all regional production shows for all horses over 6 months of age. Any federal or state recognized test results for EIA will be accepted to document negative EIA status. Testes must be dated within twelve (12) months of the show or event. This rule includes all broodmares accompanying foals to shows. Random checks will occur.
  • All horses competing must have an up-to-date physical & shots record on file. This is to ensure that a horse with a heart condition, or bad hoof, does not worsen the condition by competing.
  • Mares who are expecting are only allowed to enter halter classes during the first 3 weeks of pregnancy. They are forbidden from showing for the next 5 weeks this includes there 2 week rest period after foaling. See Hay!Land rules Breeding & Management for further details.
